Abstract
This article briefly presents waste materials, biomaterials, and biotechnologies used in sustainable geoengineering to improve weak subsoil. More attention is paid to the dynamically developing technologies based on nanomaterials, microorganisms (MICP and EICP methods), and lignosulfonates. The basic applications of all solutions, their advantages and disadvantages were outlined. Attention is drawn to the need to verify laboratory test results in field conditions and conduct the necessary economic feasibility and carbon footprint analyses.
